The building was built in late XIX century, in 1890 as a residential house. It contains a bell-floor, an English basement and an attic. The construction consists of bearing brick walls, wooden floors and roof. Facades are designed in the spirit of neoclassicism with clearly shaped entrance, richly detailed gable with a high impact to the street space.
It was declared an architectural monument of local importance in 1977.
Over the years the building had different functions; at the time of its announcement as an architectural monument it was a community center and a kindergarten.
In the 90s of XX century the building was a victim of fire and almost collapsed – failed floors and roof, bare walls and completely unsuitable for use.
At the beginning of XXI century the owners and investor perceived the concept of renovation by a completely new supporting construction and preservation and restoration of existing facades.
On one hand the building functionality is recovered and now it serves as a showroom for furniture, lighting and accessories and office of Gamma Design, and on the other hand it revives the monumental spirit of an old building located in the heart of the city.
For the purpose (according to the constructive project for strengthening) the facades and all their elements are preserved and fully restored
Internal walls and ruined floors structures are dismantled and new reinforced concrete structures are built.
To form of an impressive lounge, the attic has been partly filled by creating more volume between bell-floor and roof. The roof is made of steel frame, wooden sheathing and roof shingles. Part of it is formed by roof lights following its slopes.
On the English basement there are showroom, tearoom, WC, technical office and main electrical switchboard.
The vertical communication is carried out by a main (evacuation) ladder.
All installations are rebuilt in accordance with high modern requirements for performance of the building, including air-conditioning system.
The minimalism design of interior spaces allow a high flexibility in view of the showroom function.
